Elaine is dedicated to promoting human-ecological relationships in order
to create a sustainable culture. Her integrative work combines the fields of ecological intelligence, design aptitude
and human participation. Elaine holds a BS from Purdue University and a MS in Human Ecology from Vrije Universiteit
Brussels in Brussels Belgium.

Steve is an architect
with 34 years of experience in institutional design and planning as well as residential design. Design projects have included
institutional and university residential, administrative, auxiliary, and academic facilities. Residential projects have included
Farmers Home Administration Housing to custom residences. Planning projects have included university precinct and master planning,

Moni C. Bates, Botanist
EcoLogic
Moni contributes to the protection, preservation
and restoration of our natural heritage. Her areas of expertise include conservation site planning, biological inventories,
endangered, threatened and rare plant species surveys, natural area restoration and management, rare plant monitoring design
and analysis, and plant reproductive biology research. Moni received her B.S. from Iowa State University and M.S. from
the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. As a graduate of the Natural Resource Leadership Institute through NC State
University, Moni creatively merges her knowledge with other disciplines and provides leadership to create natural areas for

Randal Scott Romie, ASLA Landscape Architect,
Designature
Randal holds a Bachelor
of Science – Landscape Architecture from Ohio State University. He is President of Designature, a Landscape Architectural Firm in Greensboro,
NC, a design and management firm specializing in site and landscape planning, mater planning, spiritual gardens, and a multi-discipline
design team approach to development. He has twenty-five (25) years of experience including master planning, subdivision design,
site analysis, zoo landscape, landscape renovation, commercial landscapes, wetlands reclamation, highway beautification, therapeutic
gardens, healing landscapes, graphics and project management. He is a registered Landscape Architect in North Carolina, Registration

Randal was recently
awarded the 2006 ASLA national Community Service Award.

Robert Powell, Architect

Bob specializes in the effective use of energy efficient technologies.
In recent years he has promoted participation in the design and development of neighborhoods in Greensboro, including Eastside
Park Neighborhood Revitalization and the design of Mary’s house and the Eastside Park Community Center. As a member
of the PCDC Bob helps developers and neighborhoods create shared conversations about proposed projects. Most recently, PCDF
conducted a workshop for the Greensboro Redevelopment Commission on Student Neighborhoods.

Director of Educational Programs
Nelson received his Bachelor of Science
degree from Purdue University and completed his graduate work at Chicago Theological Seminary. Currently
working as a senior application specialist for a North Carolina based company providing computer software to professional
associations. He serves as President of the ICA: International Board of Directors. A
collection of 60 of his poems entitled The Rocks Sang Om was illustrated and published in Nepal and sold internationally
with the proceeds being used for women’s literacy training in the Himalayan foothills. He also designs
and leads courses dealing with contemporary social issues and the individual journey to profound consciousness.
Mr. Stover has lectured in India, Australia, Belgium and across the US.

Mark E. Kirstner, AICP
Planner
Mark has over 22 years of experience with land
use and transportation planning, community development, human services transit system management and strategic planning. Mark
is a certified planner who has worked for Guilford County in several roles including Planning Director and in the areas of
economic development, environmental protection, strategic planning, systems analysis and operating a community transportation
system. Currently, he works for the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation and is responsible for activities related
to regional transportation planning, the transportation demand management program, implementation of the Piedmont Triad Seamless
Mobility Study, coordination of land use and transportation issues and assisting with management and operational functions.
